RICHMOND — The BC Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash on a highway in Richmond, B.C., that killed one person.
RCMP officers responded to the scene Friday afternoon, where a Dodge Ram flat deck went off-road on Highway #99 northbound, just after the Steveston onramp.
Police say a 52-year-old Pitt Meadows man is dead as a result of the crash.
The incident prompted a shutdown of the highway section, causing major delays for several hours.
Crpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol said that the evidence shows the deceased driver was alone in his vehicle.
He said police haven’t found any other vehicles or people involved and they’re appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage from the incident.
