Almost 2,000 new COVID cases in B.C. over past 3 days

Over the past three days there have been 1,933 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in B.C.

Of those, 1,304 were in the Fraser Health region and 104 in the Interior Health region.

Across the province there were 715 cases on Saturday, 626 on Sunday and 594 today for a total since the start of the pandemic of 27,407.

“It is the most challenging of our times,” Dr. Bonnie Henry said during her news briefing today, Nov. 23, noting she can no longer liken the pandemic to a marathon. It is more of an Ironman triathlon, she said. We are now in the cycling part of the race with the marathon yet to come.

“It’s not the same as it was even a few weeks ago,” she said. “We’ve learned as we moved into winter, that the virus spreads more easily.”

She urged people to forego any social activities with friends or family members from outside their immediate household and to follow the new orders to that effect she imposed last week.
