OHL roundup: Franssen scores in OT as Generals edge Spitfires 4-3

WINDSOR — Harrison Franssen’s second goal of the game, scored at 2:25 of overtime, lifted the visiting Oshawa Generals to a 4-3 Ontario Hockey League victory over the Windsor Spitfires on Monday.

Owen Griffin and Brooks Rogowski also scored for the Generals (4-6-0-0), who outshot the Spitfires 28-27 at the WFCU Centre. Luke Posthumus chipped in with two assists.

AJ Spellacy, Ethan Belchetz and Jack Nesbitt scored for the Spitfires (9-1-1-0), who went 2-for-3 on the power play. Carson Woodall chipped in with two assists.

Generals goaltender Jaden Cholette stopped 24 of 27 shots, while Michael Newlove stopped 24 of 28 shots for the Spitfires.

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Nicholas Sykora scored twice, Jake Crawford had a goal and two assists, and the visiting Owen Sound Attack defeated the North Bay Battalion 6-2.

Noah Nelson, Tristan Delisle and Masen Wray also scored for the Attack (7-2-0-0), who were outshot 45-36. Netminder Carter George stopped 41 of 45 shots for the visitors. Cole Zurawski and Pierce Mbuyi chipped in with two assists.

Brandt Harper, Evgeny Dubrovtsev, Ryder Cali and Kent Greer scored for the Battalion (4-5-0-0), who trailed 1-0 after the first period and 4-2 heading into the third. Ihnat Pazii chipped in with two assists.

Battalion netminder Mike McIvor stopped 30 of 35 shots.
