So many parents choose terrible names for their child. My suggestion is that it be mandatory that when they choose the PERFECT NAME, that they legally change their name to the one they love, and give their name to the child. I think they would quickly come to their senses.
Naming a child should be given several weeks of thought after the birth, considering the nicknames he will be called, the various spellings and pronunciations they will hear or have to contend with, how their initials will look or sound – such as rat, fat, dum, pig etc. The cute baby name will not suit a 50 year old Executive or CEO.
Naming a child is a major decision someone else will have to live with for life.
It deserves careful consideration and thoughtfulness.
