Tip leads to arrest of Kelowna break and enter suspects

A report from a concerned Kelowna resident lead to the arrest of two men, who are now facing multiple charges inconnection to a break-in.

The concerned citizen alerted RCMP to a suspicious looking truck in front of a residence under construction on Fawn Run Drive in Kelowna, Nov. 21 around 10:30 p.m, according to an RCMP media release.

Officers arrived on scene and found two men exiting the residence.

“The men attempted to flee on foot but were quickly arrested without further incident,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in a release. “Investigators located and seized tools and numerous other items from the pickup truck, believed to be removed from the residence.”

Both men were taken into custody and brought before the court.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved charges of break and enter, theft under $5,000, and breach of a court order against Kirk Billingsley, 49, and Robert Gunter, 40.

They have both been released from custody for a future court date.

The matter is still under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-250-762-3300.
