Photo Gallery: The iconic 2002 photo of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The photojournalist who snapped a picture of three-year-old Vladimir Guerrero Jr. next to his father at a September 2002 Montreal Expos game says he captured the image moments after the latter tried to hit his 40th home run of the season.
Retired Canadian Press photojournalist Paul Chiasson says he remembers Vladimir Guerrero striking out in his last at-bat that night in the eighth inning of a game between the Expos and the Cincinnati Reds.
The younger Guerrero was sporting the pinstriped-Expos uniform and raising his cap to the crowd, just like his dad.
The iconic picture has gone viral in recent weeks as Guerrero Jr. powered the Toronto Blue Jays to a victory in the American League Championship Series.
Guerrero Sr. played with the Montreal Expos from 1996 to 2003, and went on to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. started his Major League career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019.
The Expos moved to Washington after the 2004 season.
The Blue Jays are now gearing up for their first World Series game in 32 years on Friday.
Here’s a look at the iconic photo along with others from that day.
