Last chance for ski swaps in Kelowna, Kamloops

It’s a few weeks from the start of ski season, and there are a few ski swaps left in Kelowna and Kamloops.
The Big White Ski Club annual ski and board swap is happening at Trinity Church at 1905 Springfield Road on Saturday, Oct. 25. Folks looking to get rid of gear get 20 per cent commission from the sold items and can drop gear off on Friday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The one day sale has a $2 admission price or $5 for families. Any sports gear in good shape is accepted, including snowshoes, roller blades, hockey gear and any ski or snowboard equipment.
The Canadian Ski Patrol’s ski swap is at the Art Knapp Garden Centre at 420 Nunavut Way in Kamloops from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8. There is a 25 per cent discount for anything bought after 1 p.m.
Admission is $2 and kids under 12 years old get in for free. There will also be some booths from resorts and retailers on top of the used gear.
Penticton and Vernon have already had their major ski swaps for the year with Vernon Ski Club’s swap earlier this week and Apex Ski Patrol having its swap in September, but there are social media groups for the Okanagan to help you cash out on some old gear.
Pre-season deals to save a few hundred dollars on season ski passes are still on for Big White Ski Resort until Nov. 26, SilverStar Mountain Resort until Oct. 31 and Sun Peaks Resort until Oct. 31.
