Interior Health Board welcomes two new directors

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – Interior Health has two new directors on their board.

The appointment of Diane Jules and Deborah Cannon was announced Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Jules hails from Chase and was president of Sexqeltkemc Ltd. Partnership starting in 2010. Before that she served four terms as an elected band councillor for the Adams Lake Indian Band and was also president of the Adams Lake Band Development Corporation. Rounding out her resume is time served as president of the Secwepemc Child and Family Service Board and 10 years on the First Nation Education Council for School Districts 73 and 83. Jules holds a business certificate from Cariboo College.

Cannon's experience is that of entrepreneur, owning and operating a local floral business for more than 15 years in Salmon Arm. She is a former Salmon Arm Councillor and served as the city representative for community committees and groups such as the Downtown Improvement Association, the Downtown College Campus Committee, Community in Blooms, Shuswap Tourism and the Economic Development Society.

Cannon also served as chair for the Rick Hansen Man in Motion 25th Anniversary Committee, her local Olympic Torch Committee and as committee member of the Esso U-18 Women's Hockey Nationals Steering Committee.

As members of the Interior Health Board of Directors, the two new members will be involved in overseeing operations, working with management to establish overall strategic direction of the organization and ensuring appropriate consultation with the community. As well, board responsibilities include reviewing the organization's long-term plans, issues affecting the organization. Board members are appointed by the Minister of Health through ministerial order.

  1. Time for all to speak out…The truth…Cleaning staff worked beyond what they should be… infection ugh within the hospital.. now they want to outsource laundry etc.The hospital staff are silenced with the threat of losing their jobs…Time to stand up and tell the truth… I am will you?

  3. Cut the middle management and have the nurses run the place they know they are there for 12 plus hour shifts come on… cut the middle man out take their salaries and hire more Nurses and no not Aides although there is a role there too but not a Nurses Role.

    Unable to afford in hospital laundry services and other necessities for Royal Inland Hospital but of course money for an already top heavy administration of a poorly operated government department by Terry Lake and Christie Clark.
