Suspicious Kamloops house fire puts family in hospital

A Kamloops family was taken to hospital after escaping a suspicious house fire Monday night.

They are expected to recover after firefighters were called to douse the flames at the family’s North Kamloops home around 11:15 p.m., Oct. 27, according to police.

“Preliminary evidence indicates that this fire is suspicious,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier said in a news release.

Kamloops RCMP did not detail the extent of the damage or what was suspicious about the fire, but did say fire investigators are working to determine the exact cause and origin of the fire.

Anyone with video footage or information can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
