More Okanagan schools with COVID-19 exposures

Interior Health confirmed more school exposures this weekend, in both Vernon and Kelowna.

A member of the Quigley Elementary School community tested positive for COVID-19, according to Central Okanagan Public schools. The exposure dates for the Kelowna school are Nov. 18, 19, 20, 23, 24 and 25. Kelowna Secondary also had another case.

In Vernon, Silver Star Elementary had a potential exposure on Nov. 23 and 24.

In both cases, school representatives say the person or people are self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams. Interior Health follows up with anyone potentially exposed to a confirmed case directly through contact tracing.

As always, the health authority reminds people to stay home from school if they show any symptoms.
