A man has been charged in relation to a pair of shootings on the same day in South Okanagan in September.
Cash James has been charged with weapons offences, assault with a weapon and discharge of a firearm with intent to wound, according to a press release from police issued today, Oct. 31.
Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen RCMP received a report about an assault with a weapon in the 8100-block of Highway 97 on Sept. 11. Shortly after the assault there was another report about a shooting in the 4100-block of Highway 97 in Osoyoos.
Investigators believe the same person was responsible for both incidents, and James was identified and arrested the following day. He is waiting for a bail hearing.
“This was excellent work by the Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen officers who worked as a team in investigating, identifying and arresting the suspect,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano said in the release. “They worked tirelessly to advance this investigation and remove this individual from the streets.”
Since the case is before the courts police aren’t releasing more information.
