Jays, Dodgers set for Game 7 World Series showdown

TORONTO — The 2025 Major League Baseball season that started March 18 in Toyko ends tonight in Canada.

And the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers, who took part in the first regular-season game at the Tokyo Dome, are hoping their final game continues a post-season streak — the road team has won the last four Game 7s in the World Series.

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Dodgers will play in a seventh and deciding game at Rogers Centre, with the winner receiving the coveted Commissioner’s Trophy.

The Dodgers stayed alive last night with a 3-1 Halloween victory that almost disappeared in the ninth inning when the Jays got the first two batters on base, but failed to cash them in.

Veteran right-hander Max Scherzer will be on the mound for the Blue Jays tonight. The Dodgers would only say that last night’s starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto would not start tonight, indicating that Tyler Glasnow, Shohei Ohtani and everyone else who can pitch were all possibilities to be handed the ball.

Both teams insist they will do whatever it takes to win baseball’s top prize. All hands will be on deck as the long season for both talented squads has come down to a best-of-one.

Both teams insist they were built for this, and both teams want it all. Tonight one of them will have it all.
