TORONTO — Toronto Blue Jays fans were left staring at error screens Saturday night after Sportsnet’s Sportsnet+ streaming service went down during Game 7 of the World Series.
The outage cut off streams as the Los Angeles Dodgers came up in the seventh inning, sparking frustration across social media.
The streaming feed froze and displayed a “Code 22” message, reading, “We have detected an issue with your network. Please check your connection and try again.”
It was the same message users saw during a similar streaming failure in Game 4, when Toronto mounted a big inning en route to a 6-2 win.
Sportsnet said some users were experiencing intermittent disruptions “due to an issue with a third-party vendor” and that a free stream was available on Sportsnet.ca.
Sportsnet, owned by Rogers, said it was working to resolve the issue.
