What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan, Kamloops

Trying to avoid the cloudy gloom by getting festive? We’ve got you covered with the top five events happening across Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops this weekend.

KELOWNA

  • Yule Market – Ready to grab some gifts for the nerd in your life? Head to the Rutland Centennial Hall for Kelowna ComiCon’s very own holiday market on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is by donation to the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
  • CCFO Christmas Fair – Entry to this Christmas-themed fair is free on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Centre Culturel Francophone de l’Okanagan.
  • Christmas Craft and Artisan Fair – This event is also on Nov. 15, but it runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Central Okanagan United Church. Enjoy local vendors, a bake sale, and the snowflake café. Entry is by donation to their outreach program.
  • A Roaring Gatsby Evening – Break out your best Great Gatsby style for an evening of roaring 1920s fun. This event is located at 31 Charkay on the Grizzli Winery property and takes place on Nov. 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $65 each.
  • Family Fun Day – Bring the kids and have an afternoon of fun trivia on Nov. 16, starting at 2 p.m. at The Hatching Post. Kid’s combo meals are just $10.

VERNON

  • Winter Artisan Shop – Over thirty local artists, makers, and creators are taking over Cambium Cider Co. Thursdays to Sundays from Nov. 13 to Dec. 21. This weekend alone, you can enjoy this event on Nov. 14 and 15 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free.
  • A Festival of Crafts & Gifts – Vernon’s twenty-fourth annual Festival of Crafts returns this weekend at Kal Tire Place. The whole family can enjoy over one hundred vendors on Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free.
  • Embossed Christmas Card Class – Try your hand at creating your own Christmas Cards on Nov. 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Vernon Community Arts Centre. The cost for members is $54 and $60 for non-members.
  • Pet Photos with Santa – Get your pets in on the holiday cheer on Nov. 15 at Buckerfield from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entry is by donation to Forever Home Sanctuary.
  • Sovereign Lake Nordic Development Centre Fundraiser Dinner – Enjoy a fun evening and help raise funds for a good cause on Nov. 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Silverstar Brewing Co. Ticket, donation, and auction costs vary.

PENTICTON

  • Rancho Vignola Harvest Sale – Refresh your kitchen with local vegetables on Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre. Entry is free.
  • Christmas Craft Fair – This year’s Christmas Craft Fair at the Summerland Community Centre has doubled and will be taking place on Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Summerland Community Centre. Entry is by donation to the Summerland Food Bank.
  • Bespoke Market – Check out this small market focusing on creative entrepreneurs including designers, small shop owners, and makers on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Standard Space. Entry is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors, and children under twelve enter for free. You can pay online in advance of the event or pay cash at the door.
  • Holiday Cheer & Winter Market – Drink great wine and enjoy festive cheer with local vendors at the Lakeboat Vineyard and Winery on Nov. 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free.
  • Yuletide Christmas Market – Get into the Christmas spirit with the whole family on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Penticton Lakeside. Entry is $2 and cash only at the door.

KAMLOOPS

  • Kamloops Festival of Trees – This free event kicks off on Nov. 14 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will go to Jan. 5. For thirty years, this beloved tradition has taken over Delta Hotel Kamloops and, this year, the funds raised will support the BC Children’s Hospital and Research Institute.
  • Annual Winter’s Ball – Everyone is welcome to join the TRU Foundation Gala’s Annual Winter’s Ball on Nov. 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $300.
  • Winter Farmers’ Market – Winter doesn’t mean this farmers’ market hibernates, so make sure to stop by the Kamloops Winter Farmers’ Market at Mount Paul CFC on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entry is free.
  • Kwseltkten Kristmas Market – Embrace the holiday spirit on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Delta Hotel Kamloops. Entry is free.
  • Hockey Game – The Kamloops Blazers are going up against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Nov. 15, starting at 6 p.m., at the Sandman Centre. Ticket prices vary.
