Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and doubles partner Erin Routliffe of New Zealand have split up as a team.
The pairing won three doubles titles together in 2025, winning in Stuttgart, Cincinnati and at the U.S. Open.
“Titles, tears, and triumphs,” wrote Dabrowski in an Instagram post. “A rollercoaster of emotion no one could have predicted.
“A business partnership comes to its end, and a friendship remains.”
Although Routliffe plays under New Zealand’s flag, she holds Canadian citizenship and had previously played for Canada.
Dabrowski and Routliffe started playing together in 2023, winning the U.S. Open that year, a first Grand Slam title for both players.
Although Wednesday’s announcement made the split official, Dabrowski and Routliffe had begun playing with other partners toward the end of this past season but reunited at the WTA Finals.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Nov. 12, 2025.
