[byline]

TORONTO — The Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm will host the 2027 Memorial Cup, the Canadian Hockey League announced Thursday.

The schedule for the springtime elite major junior tournament, which features the host team and the champions of the OHL, Western Hockey League and Quebec Maritimes Hockey League, will be released at a later date.

The 2027 Memorial Cup marks the 107th edition of the tournament and will be held on the 200th anniversary of Guelph’s founding.

The OHL’s Kitchener Rangers were the other finalists in the bid to host the tournament.

Guelph last hosted the Memorial Cup in 2002. It shared hosting duties with Kitchener and Hamilton in 1962.

The QMJHL’s Rimouski Océanic hosted this year’s tournament, won by the OHL’s London Knights. The WHL’s Kelowna Rockets will host in 2026.
