Salmon Arm resident scores $75K lotto win on a coffee run

Coffee is great, but a Salmon Arm lottery winner now knows that you can't beat a coffee and $75,000.

Nicholas Sayers went through his usual routine of picking up coffee and a few Scratch & Win tickets, but little did he know that he'd just gotten a whole lot richer.

Sayers bought the ticket from the Co-op Gas Bar on 10th Ave, NE, and was at home when he decided to scratch it, according to a BCLC media release.

“I was on my last letter and I had three words,” Sayers said in the release. “I started to uncover more words and realized I had won. I checked it on the BCLC Lotto! app and thought ‘wow.’ It was all pretty exciting.”

The money he won from his Deluxe Crossword Scratch & Win will go towards a new car and golf clubs, he said.
