iN NUMBERS: Warm November brought rain instead of snow for Okanagan, Kamloops

This November is set to be one of the warmest on record for the Southern Interior, including Kamloops and the Okanagan.

This is some good news for people who hate the cold, but if you’re excited about skiing you’ll have to sit at home for a few more days.

It’s a good chance to stop procrastinating and finally wax your skis. 

Here are the numbers for November so far:

• 2.3: Degrees Celsius is the typical average temperature for Kamloops in November.
• 5.7: Degrees has been the average temperature for Kamloops this month so far.
• 22.8: Millimetres of precipitation has fallen on Kamloops this November, that’s 89 per cent of average and there are still a few days to go.
• 4: Degrees is how much warmer the average temperature in Vernon has been this November.
• 24.3: Millimetres of precipitation has fallen on Vernon, which is 49 per cent of normal.
• 50: Centimetres is how much more snowfall Big White Ski Resort needs in order to open.
• 3: Ski resorts in the Thompson-Okanagan have delayed their opening day so far: Big White, SilverStar and Sun Peaks. 
• 2.4: Degrees is the typical average temperature for Kelowna in November.

• 3.35: Degrees is the typical average temperature for Penticton.
• 6.2: Degrees is the average temperature in Penticton for November so far.
• 38.7: Millimetres of rain have fallen on Penticton this November, that’s 138 per cent of normal.
