MONTREAL — Montreal transit workers are set to go on strike again next month amid a prolonged labour dispute.
The transit agency’s 2,400 maintenance workers say they will refuse overtime hours between Dec. 9 and Jan. 11.
The agency says buses and metros will operate during the strike, but there could be an impact on services given how long it’s scheduled to last.
The union says the agency relies heavily on overtime, and it wants to put pressure on the employer to reach a collective agreement.
It says a deal could be reached by the holidays if the agency is willing to budge during talks.
The maintenance workers have already walked off the job three times this year, limiting bus and metro service in Montreal.
