Canada’s Marion Thénault claims aerials silver at World Cup in Finland

RUKA — Canadian freestyle skier Marion Thénault flew to World Cup silver in women’s aerials action Saturday.

Thénault scored 82.48 points in the big final for her first World Cup podium this season.

China’s Xu Mengtao won gold with a score of 89.29.

Chen Meiting, also of China, rounded out the podium with 75.31 points.

Thénault climbed from fifth in qualifying to third in the first final before reaching the podium’s second step.

The 25-year-old from Sherbrooke, Que., was a bronze medallist at the 2022 Beijing Olympics in the mixed team aerials event.
