Popular Kelowna restaurant voluntarily closes after potential COVID-19 exposure

A locally-owned Kelowna restaurant has decided to voluntarily close its doors after a potential COVID-19 exposure.

"Today we learned that one of our RauDZ Regional Table team members has been exposed to COVID-19 on their day off. They are self-isolating at home as required," wrote owners Rod Butters and Audrey Surrao in a Facebook post yesterday, Dec. 17.

"As our teams are small, we have made the proactive decision to voluntarily close RauDZ Regional Table. The micro bar and bites team works very closely with the team at RauDZ, so as a precautionary measure we will be closing micro as well.  These two will remain temporarily closed until we are assured that everyone is healthy, and it is safe to reopen," the owners wrote.

The owners said they take COVID-19 precautions seriously and ensure proper sanitization for everyone who comes through their front and back doors.

The temporary closure does not affect their other businesses Sunny’s Modern Diner and The Okanagan Table, as these teams work independently, according to the post.

"We will be in touch with more information when available," they wrote.
