Plane landing in Kelowna carries passenger with COVID-19

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control is reporting that a passenger with COVID-19 flew on a plane to Kelowna last week.

The centre announced on Dec. 11, WestJet flight 3342 from Calgary to Kelowna had a COVID-19 exposure affecting rows 15-19. The update was posted Dec. 19.

WestJet flight 3241 which flew from Calgary to Kamloops, Dec. 11, also reported a COVID-19 case, affecting rows eight-14.

Another recent exposure was reported on Dec. 9 affecting rows one to four on WestJet flight 188 from Kelowna to Calgary.

Since March 27, passengers seated near a COVID-19 case who was recognized after arrival will no longer be directly notified of their potential exposure. Instead, that information is posted online on the BCCDC website.

Where information on affected rows is available, passengers seated in those rows should be considered to be at higher risk of exposure due to their proximity to the case.
