A man has been charged with second degree murder after his wife was found dead in Merritt earlier this week.
Christopher Bernard Jarvis, 49, was charged with the second degree murder of his wife Pamela Jarvis, 45, on Dec. 17, according to a press release from police.
Merritt RCMP received a call from BC Emergency Health Services asking for help with a disturbance at a home on Dec. 16.
When police and paramedics arrived they found Pamela Jarvis with significant injuries. She was taken to hospital but died of her injuries.
Christopher Jarvis fled the house before officers arrived but he was found, arrested and he’s still in custody.
He has already appeared before a judge and has been held over for a court appearance on Jan. 6.
Police said this is an isolated incident.
“The securing of charge approval was the result of a quick response from Merritt RCMP Front Line Officers and the ongoing investigation involving investigators from the Southeast District Major Crime Unit, BC RCMP Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Police Dog Services and the Merritt RCMP” Staff Sgt. Jason Smart said in the release.
