Benigni’s 23 lead Navy past Holy Cross 65-58
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Austin Benigni’s 23 points helped Navy defeat Holy Cross 65-58 on Saturday.
Benigni added five assists for the Midshipmen (10-5, 2-0 Patriot League). Aidan Kehoe scored 18 points while shooting 9 of 10 from the field and added nine rebounds and three blocks. Mike Woods had eight points and finished 4 of 6 from the field. The Midshipmen picked up their sixth straight win.
The Crusaders (6-9, 1-1) were led in scoring by Tyler Boston, who finished with 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Joe Nugent added 13 points for Holy Cross. Aiden Disu had 10 points.
Navy led 28-21 at the break. Navy closed out the victory over Holy Cross in the final half, while Kehoe led the way with a team-high 14 second-half points.
