Information session for Clifton Road upgrades

The City of Kelowna and design consultant Focus Engineering are proposing to begin road and drainage improvements along Clifton Road.

The public is invited to view the preferred design concept and construction schedule for the four-laning of Clifton Road between Clement and Lambert avenues, including upgrades to sanitary, water, drainage and retaining walls.

The proposed improvements to Clifton Road will incorporate widening to four-lanes, new sidewalks on both sides, street lighting, sanitary sewer, water main and shallow utilities and a new storm main will be constructed from Lambert Avenue to Clement Avenue. New retaining walls will be constructed along both sides where required.

The project also includes a “cycle track” separated from the road by a barrier curb, while a visual barrier separates the cycle track from the sidewalk.

City of Kelowna utility crews will be constructing a storm sewer, water main and sanitary sewer through Glenview Gardens upper parking from Clifton Road to Brandt's Creek prior to the Clifton Road Upgrade.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August with completion in November. The capital cost is $3.6 million.
