Possible COVID-19 exposure on flight to Kelowna

A passenger with COVID-19 was on a recent flight from Vancouver to Kelowna.

Air Canada flight 8414 flew from Vancouver to Kelowna, Dec. 22, carrying a passenger with the disease, according to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control. The rows affected include two to eight.

Passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

If you are a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case, Public Health contacts you directly to let you know, according to the centre.

In cases where not everyone can be reached, Regional Health Authorities are posting public exposure information online.

Yesterday, the federal government announced that it plans to require international air travellers to test negative for COVID-19 before landing in Canada.

Mask requirements and other social distancing measures are currently in place at all Canadian airports.
