Three arrested, abducted woman rescued in Kamloops

Police have arrested three people after another abduction attempt in Kamloops.

Nearly two weeks after a similar incident, police were called to Valleyview where a woman in her 60s was being held against her will, according to Kamloops RCMP.

Police said the van ran out of gas and the woman was allowed to walk to a nearby gas station where she asked for help escaping her armed captors.

Police were called to the 2300 block of East Trans Canada Highway around 7 p.m., Jan. 4, where they seized a BB gun and arrested two men and a woman.

“A high-risk vehicle stop was initiated by Kamloops RCMP frontline police, who were able to safely separate the woman from the three alleged suspects in the van,” spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier said in the release.

It remains under investigation and no one has been charged yet.

It’s not clear whether the incident is related to the abduction of a woman on Dec. 22, when a woman in the Dallas area was forced into a van. The woman in that incident was saved and a single suspect was arrested.
