Body of a man found in a home in Kamloops, B.C., is homicide, RCMP say

KAMLOOPS — Mounties say they are investigating a homicide after the body of a man was found in Kamloops, B.C.

Police say Muhammad “Ash” Zafar was discovered dead in a home in the city’s West End after police were asked to check on the man’s well-being on Monday.

The RCMP say that based on the evidence gathered at the scene they are treating the investigation as a homicide.

They say the circumstances appear to be isolated and there’s no indication of any ongoing risk to the public.

The Kamloops serious crime unit has taken over the investigation and is working to establish a timeline of the man’s movements leading up to his death.

Police say they’re asking anyone who has information of Zafar’s activities or associates to reach out to investigators.
