ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford, B.C., say they are investigating a fatal shooting tied to the B.C. gang conflict.
They say officers responded to the scene shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday, following a report of a shooting on Siskin Drive.
Police say they found an injured man inside a home but he died at the scene despite the efforts of first responders.
There has been a rise in extortion-related violence against B.C.’s South Asian community, involving shootings targeting homes and businesses.
However, police say the Abbotsford shooting isn’t related to extortion.
Police are appealing for witnesses and people with any information related to the shooting to contact them.
