Ottawa Redblacks sign veteran receiver Lewis through 2027 season

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks signed veteran American receiver Eugene Lewis to a contract extension Thursday that keeps him with the CFL club through the 2027 season.

Lewis, 32, was entering the final year of his deal before signing the extension.

He had 75 catches for 1,012 yards and six touchdowns last season, his first with Ottawa. He cracked the 1,000-yard plateau for the second straight year and fourth time in his eight-year CFL career.

Lewis has appeared in 116 career regular-season games with Ottawa (2025), Edmonton (2023-24) and Montreal (2017-19, 2021-22). He has recorded 473 catches for 7,273 yards and 47 TDs.

He was the East Division’s outstanding player in 2022 and has been named a league-all-star three times (2021, ’22, ’24).
