KAMLOOPS – One man is in custody and another expected to face charges after RCMP found a duffle bag with a loaded firearm inside.
Cpl. Cheryl Bush says RCMP noticed two males, one carrying a duffle bag, along the frontage road in the 1800 block of East Trans-Canada Highway round 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19. The bag appeared to have a firearm concealed in it.
When officers attempted to arrest the two males one fled on foot, leaving the bag behind. The loaded firearm was seized and a 23-year-old was taken into custody. The second male has been identified and police say they will be seeking charges against him.
RCMP are continuing to investigate the matter.

well reading the police report , as they tried to find out one of the guys run off , what does he have to hide if it was all ligit , realy I would rather see the rcmp stop them in there tracks to be sure every thing is on the up and up, not that we would find out when a tragic episode happens as we are seeing lately , and just maybe these guys are known to the cops , better to be safe than sorry , and to have the public cry fowelagainst the rcmp,
omg….you bleeding hearts…i for one am very thankful for their diligence. I live around the corner from where this happened…i slept well that night knowing our RCMP were doing their jobs. Thank you for your service.
there could be many indications , such as the barrel of the gun showing , or the lenth of the duffel bag , the rcmp are trained to notice these things , be thankful they do, and that they did , does not matter how they new ,
