VEYSONNAZ — Canada’s Reece Howden earned second at a men’s ski cross World Cup on Friday.
He finished behind France’s Youri Duplessis-Kergomard in the final and ahead of Switzerland’s Tobias Baur.
Sweden’s David Mobaerg was fourth after crashing earlier in the race.
Duplessis-Kergomard overtook Howden in the course’s final rollers.
Howden, from Cultus Lake, B.C., was the top-ranked men’s ski cross athlete in 2025 and is still world No. 1 so far in 2026.
On the women’s side, Sweden’s Sandra Naeslund took gold ahead of Germany’s Daniela Maier and Austria’s Katrin Ofner.
Ottawa’s Hannah Schmidt was the top Canadian woman, winning the small final for fifth overall.
