We watched the Kelowna version of ‘Jersey Shore’ so you don’t have to

It wasn’t all boozy beach days for the Jersey Shore spin-off cast in Kelowna, they got a taste of the real Okanagan.

Canada Shore, the new Paramount+ spin-off of the classic reality show Jersey Shore, where producers gathered 10 rowdy 20-somethings in Kelowna last July to see what drama would unfold. The show has a target audience, it’s not for everyone, but we took a look to see what aspects of Kelowna are on display for reality TV fans around the world.

Country bars, beaches and boat tours are front and centre, along with shots of Meet me on Bernard and some of the Okanagan’s wineries.

A few of Kelowna’s popular night-life and tourist attractions made it into the show with This Country Bar, located above Liquid Zoo, the OK Corral’s mechanical bull night and Tiki Time Tours boats making into the first few episodes.

It’s not just the nightlife on screen in the first two episodes. Canada’s newest reality TV stars had to pack cherries and sell fruit at the Kelowna Fruit Stand on Highway 97 in July 2025.

“I’m so over this heat,” Canada Shore cast member Christopher Brown said after working at the fruit stand. “It’s scorching hot. My makeup is falling off my face.”

The cast were also sent to Kelowna Rib-Fest in City Park to season some ribs and prep some beans.

Some of the people on the show were not pleased with the brief experience of working in the Okanagan.

All of the cast members lived together in a mansion in the south end of the city during the month-long shoot.

If you’ve seen clips foisted onto your social media feeds and you’re wondering what the deal is with the house featured on the show, the cast stayed in a $9.5 million mansion on Lakeland Road with a pool, water fountain and tennis court.

There are 18 spin-off shows from Jersey Shore, but this is the first Canadian version, according to a press release from Paramount+.

Jersey Shore came out in 2009, and all these years later people still want to get a glimpse into the lives of party animals on beaches around the world. The other versions of the show take place in Australia, Latin America and all around the U.S.

Canada Shore features 10 roommates who are “ready to party, flirt harder, and turn every night into memories.”
