Lawson scores 24 in Morgan State’s 78-77 victory against Howard

WASHINGTON (AP) — Rob Lawson had 24 points in Morgan State’s 78-77 victory over Howard on Saturday.

Lawson shot 8 of 16 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range, and went 5 of 7 from the line for the Bears (7-13, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Alfred Worrell Jr. shot 4 of 16 (3 for 10 from 3-point range) and 12 of 12 from the free-throw line to add 23 points. Elijah Davis had 16 points and shot 6 of 20 from the field and 4 of 6 from the line.

The Bison (12-9, 2-3) were led in scoring by Cedric Taylor III, who finished with 29 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Howard also got 23 points, 11 rebounds and three steals from Bryce Harris. Alex Cotton had 14 points and six rebounds.
