iN NUMBERS: Okanagan, Kamloops balmy while other parts of Canada buried in snow

You might have relatives or friends dealing with the major snowstorm in other parts of the country over the past few days. If you do, then you probably want to brag about how nice the weather is in Kamloops and the Okanagan.

We gathered some numbers to help you do that because nothing brings people closer than rubbing salt in the wound when someone else is throwing salt on their driveway.

Here are the numbers:

  • 60: Centimetres of snow fell in Southern Ontario over the weekend.
  • 0: Centimetres of snow fell in Kelowna over the weekend.
  • 150: Car collisions happened in Ottawa during this past weekend’s snowstorm.
  • 9: Celsius. That’s the daytime high temperature forecast for the Okanagan later this week.
  • -19: Celsius. That was the temperature in Calgary on Sunday evening.
  • 290: Flight delays out of Toronto Pearson International Airport on Saturday and 181 cancellations.
  • 33: Flight delays out of Kelowna International Airport on Saturday.
  • -1: Celsius. That’s the mean temperature for Kamloops so far this January.
  • -13: Celsius. That’s the mean temperature for Regina so far this January.
  • 5,000: Montrealers were without power Monday evening.
