What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan and Kamloops

KELOWNA

  • Branches of Memories: A Writing Workshop – Join Inspired Word Café for a creative writing workshop exploring memory and place on Jan. 31 at the Rotary Centre for the Arts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entry is free.
  • Fireside Festival 2026 – Experience two nights of music, art, and immersive vibes at BNA Brewing Co. on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets range from $80 to $132.
  • Girls Night Out MarketWe discussed more about this event in our article here, but the important things to know is that this will take place at Revelry Food and Music Hub on Jan. 31 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $5.
  • Okanagan Innovation Gala – Connect with engineering students, industry leaders and innovators at the Kelowna Events Centre on Jan. 31 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $30 for students and $42.77 for general admission.
  • Creamery Crafts – Discover the science of food by making your own ice cream and butter at the Okanagan Heritage Museum on Feb. 1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is free.

VERNON

  • Buddha Bowl and Movie Night – Enjoy a Buddha-themed dinner and film at the Vernon Japanese Cultural Centre on Jan. 30 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25, with RSVP required to reserve your spot.
  • Saturday Morning Art Explorations – Drop in for a welcoming, all-ages art workshop at the Cardiff Miller Art Warehouse on Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Adult tickets are $10 each.
  • Family Saturdays – Enjoy a hands-on art program for kids and caregivers at the Vernon Public Art Gallery on Jan. 31 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission starts at $3 for members and $5 for non-members, with family rates available.
  • Parents’ Night Out: K-POP Hero Party – Treat your child to a high-energy evening of music, games, and pizza at Sundance Martial Arts on Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 per child with limited spots available.
  • Mike Rud Quartet – Experience the soulful, cinematic jazz of Mike Rud at the Vernon Jazz Club on Jan. 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 each.

PENTICTON

  • Snakebite Film Festival – Enjoy four days of independent films, galas and wine tours from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, with a full festival pass for $65. Experience 11 films across 3 venues, plus special events like the Dollywood Gala and Snakebite Wine Tour.
  • A Taste of Marmara at Elma – Savor a six-course culinary journey through Turkey’s Marmara region at Elma on Jan. 30, starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $150 each and include Turkish coffee and storytelling that connects each dish to its cultural heritage.
  • PUNKticton Fundraising Event – Enjoy live punk music and support the Penticton RollerSkate Society at the Luso Multicultural Society on Jan. 31 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $10–$20, with all-ages fun in the afternoon and 19+ in the evening.
  • Saturday Jam – Spend your afternoon with live music at The Hub on Martin on Jan. 31 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $10, and all are welcome to join the jam with instruments.
  • Songwriter Acoustic Invitational Jam – Celebrate the Okanagan’s top local songwriters in an intimate acoustic evening at The Hub on Martin on Feb. 1, starting at 7:30 p.m. There is no cover charge.

KAMLOOPS

  • Food on Film – A curated lineup of foodie films at The Paramount Theatre during Taste Around Kamloops from Jan. 21 to Feb. 30 at varying times. Tickets are $10 each.
  • Bridal Expo – Explore wedding trends, vendors, and inspiration at the Coast Hotel on Jan. 31 from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each.
  • YKA Hot Chocolate Festival – Sample signature hot chocolates at participating cafés starting on Feb. 1 and vote for your favourites. Prices, times and locations vary.
