Kamloops RCMP respond to ‘mini crime-spree’ in downtown area
A man was arrested Saturday morning near Victoria Street in Kamloops after ransacking a shed and smashing a window at a construction site until finally having a soak in a homeowner's hot tub.
Just after 6 a.m., Jan. 9, Kamloops RCMP received a report of a man strewing the contents of a shed about a resident's yard on Hudson Bay Trail, then leaving with a stolen blanket.
He then smashed a window at a Victoria Street construction site and was chased off by security, leaving the blanket behind, according to an RCMP media release.
RCMP say about an hour later a homeowner in the area reported finding "an intoxicated man in their hot tub."
The intruder was later arrested and kept in custody until he was sober, then released with conditions.
Kamloops RCMP had a busy weekend, responding to a reported 333 calls starting midnight Friday Jan. 8 until Monday Jan. 11 at 8 a.m.
