Three suspects were arrested and a gun was seized during a bust by the Kelowna RCMP gang squad this past weekend.
Officers were called to a report of people with a gun in the Postill Lake area, Sunday, Jan. 25, according to an RCMP release issued today, Jan. 30.
The member of the RCMP’s proactive enforcement unit followed the vehicle and kept an eye on it and the suspects until officers from the gang enforcement team arrived and took over.
The three suspects in the vehicle were arrested and a firearm was seized.
One of the suspects was wanted on an immigration warrant and is custody, while the other two were released with a court date, RCMP said.
“Thanks to a community member who took the time to report suspicious activity, our officers were able to respond quickly and effectively,” Kelowna RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Steven Lang said in the release.
