What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan and Kamloops

Start your February right with these events happening in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops.

KELOWNA

VERNON

  • Vernon Winter Carnival – Enjoy over one hundred community events during one of Canada’s largest winter celebrations from Feb. 6 to Feb. 15. Read our full article on the carnival here.
  • VWC Parade – One such Vernon Winter Carnival event we’re excited about is the 65th Annual Winter Carnival Parade along 27th Street on Feb. 7 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Some of our team at INFOnews will be in attendance, so make sure to say hello.
  • Snowed In Comedy Tour – Laugh your way through winter with Dan Quinn, Paul Myrehaug, Pete Zedlacher, Erica Sigurdson, and more at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre on Feb. 6 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $63.75 for adults and $53.50 for seniors.

PENTICTON

  • Stitch In Public Day – Celebrate National Stitch In Public Day with an afternoon of stitching, drinks, and community at Tin Whistle Brewery on Feb. 7 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. This event is free, with optional $10 event kits available.
  • Bring Your Own Vinyl Day – Enjoy a relaxed vinyl listening day with drinks and snacks at Tin Whistle Brewing on Feb. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is free.
  • Presto! The Great Lambrusco – Enjoy a magical, family-friendly show full of illusions and laughs at the Cleland Theatre on Feb. 8 starting at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15.
  • Super Bowl Party – Watch the big game with door prizes, a square board, 50/50 draws, food, and drinks at at The Fraternal Order of the Eagles on Feb. 8 starting at 3 p.m. There is no cover charge.

KAMLOOPS

  • YKA Hot Chocolate Festival – Sample signature hot chocolates at participating cafés all weekend long and vote for your favourites. Prices, times and locations vary.
  • Slow Burn Social – Sip cocktails, enjoy steamy book readings, and meet local authors at the Delta Hotel Kamloops on Feb. 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $45.
  • Does This Taste Funny? – Enjoy a night of food-inspired laughs with comedian Ali Hassan at The Paramount Theatre on Feb. 6 starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $34.
  • Black Film Festival – Celebrate Black storytelling with three curated films at the Paramount Theatre on Feb. 8, 15, and 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $14.29 for adults and $11.43 for seniors, children, and students.
