Kelowna lights up for the Spring Lantern Festival

Kelowna is set to light up this weekend with the OCCA 2026 Spring Lantern Festival. This event promises a night of culture, cuisine, and family-friendly celebration for everyone in attendance. It’s hosted by the OCCA Communities Association, a local charity and non-profit that serves multi-cultural communities across the Central Okanagan.

This festival is one of their many events aiding in their mission to foster inclusion and celebrate the diversity of our neighbours and will be taking place on Feb. 22 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kelowna Events Centre, with doors opening at 3:30 p.m.

This year, the festival will feature authentic Chinese cuisine, live performances, and hands on cultural experiences for the whole family. Highlights include a children’s zone, craft workshops, interactive games, a cultural photo booth, and opportunities to explore traditional attire from different cultures.

Tickets include three traditional Chinese dishes that range from dumplings to spring rolls. Vegetarian, meat, and seafood options will also be available. Guests can also participate in prize draws and a raffle. Children under twelve have a discounted ticket price and kids under five attend free with registration.

The Spring Lantern Festival combines food, fun, and cultural exploration in a welcoming and inclusive environment, making it a hotspot to celebrate community and culture under one roof.
