Canada’s Auger-Aliassime off to Rotterdam Open final with win over Bublik

ROTTERDAM — Canadian tennis star Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik 6-1, 6-2 to move on to the Rotterdam Open final on Saturday.

The Montreal native had seven aces and three double faults, and broke on four of his six chances.

Auger-Aliassime, the tournament’s second seed, also won an astounding 96 per cent of first-serve points.

The third-seeded Bublik had four aces to one double fault and went without a break-point chance. He only won 53 per cent of first-serve points.

Auger-Aliassime last won this tournament in 2022 and entered this week’s event off a title win at the Open Occitanie last Sunday.

He will face top seed Alex de Minaur of Australia on Sunday.
