
Penticton RCMP arrest suspect following break-in
RCMP have a suspect in custody following a break and enter at the Penticton Herald building last week.
Private security called police to report a broken window at the Penticton Herald building at 186 Nanaimo Avenue West in the early morning hours of Friday, Jan. 15.
Several laptops were observed piled outside the building.
Police were told a suspect was standing near a window with a blanket covering his face. When officers arrived on scene, they found the suspect with a blanket over head, carrying several items. Upon seeing police, the suspect dropped the goods and fled on foot, but was captured while trying to hide under a vehicle a short distance away.
Police a suspect into custody on a single charge of break and enter.
Wade River Morin, 27, is scheduled for a court appearance on Jan. 20, RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy said in a press release issued today, Jan. 18.
