West Kelowna RCMP staged a two-day shoplifting crackdown last week and recovered $3,000 worth of stolen goods.
Members of the detachment’s crime reduction unit worked with loss prevention officers at stores in West Kelowna on Feb. 12 and 13, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Feb. 20.
RCMP don’t say which retail outlets were targeted, but submitted images appear to be taken in Walmart.

RCMP say 18 theft incidents were investigated including nine ongoing investigations that may result in charges, two people were referred to restorative justice, several suspects were banned from stories and around $3,000 worth of stolen goods were recovered.
“This project sends a clear message that retail theft will not be tolerated in West Kelowna,” Cpl. Bryan Mulrooney with the crime reduction unit said in the release.
