RCMP looking for driver who hit pedestrian, took her to West Kelowna women’s shelter

After almost a month of investigation, West Kelowna RCMP are now reaching out to the public to locate the person behind the wheel of a pickup truck involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

Paramedics were called to the West Kelowna Women’s Shelter, Jan. 29, after a resident reported she had been hit by pickup earlier that day, according to an RCMP media release issued, Feb. 25.

She told RCMP she was crossing Elliot Road at the Super Save Gas station when she was hit by a white, Duramax-style, lifted pickup truck with a bumper sticker that reads, “I brake for saucy wenches.”

The woman driving the truck is approximately 40 years old and was wearing a hat. The driver helped the woman into her truck and dropped her off at the women’s shelter.

RCMP said the driver didn’t remain on the scene or exchange information with the pedestrian as required by law.
