KRYNICA — Canada’s Arnaud Gaudet won the bronze medal in a World Cup men’s parallel grand slalom snowboard event Saturday.
Gaudet, from Montcalm, Que., beat Slovenia’s Tim Mastnak in the small final to pick up his second World Cup medal of the season.
He won silver at an event in Bulgaria leading into the Milan Cortina Olympics.
Italy’s Maurizio Bormolini defeated South Korea’s Lee Sang-ho in the big final to take the gold medal. Bormolini defeated Gaudet in the semifinals.
In the women’s event, Japan’s Miki Tsubaki defeated Czechia’s Zuzana Maderova in the big final to win gold. Ramona Theresia Hofmeister took bronze. Kaylie Buck of Oakville, Ont., was the top Canadian, advancing to the quarterfinals.
