iN VIDEO: Romantic comedy featuring West Kelowna resort premiers on TV

A romantic comedy set at a West Kelowna resort will premiere on television tonight .

A Wedding to Remember, produced by Reel One Entertainment, will debut tonight, Jan. 22, on Citytv at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to the Visit Westside website.

The made-for-TV movie stars Cristina Rosato and Greyston Holt and was filmed in the summer of 2020 at The Cove Lakeside Resort.

The plot follows Olivia and Brian, who are on opposite sides of a development project. They are surprised to find they are the maid of honour and best man at the same wedding, and have to work together to save their friends' wedding.

Film production in the Okanagan is estimated to have brought in just under $50-million in economic impact to the region, according to the Okanagan Film Commission.

In the commission's latest report, 23 productions spent $48,830,000 filming in the Okanagan last year. This number surpasses all previous years, according to the report.

Hallmark TV movie Angel Tree reportedly spent $1.5-million filming in Summerland last October, while Love And Romance, Oregon spent $1.8 million shooting around Kelowna during the summer. Hallmark movie Romance at Crystal Cove spent $1.5-million during its time filming in Summerland in the fall.
