iN VIDEO: Three waterfront towers planned for Kelowna’s South Mission

An application has been filed with the City of Kelowna to allow for three towers reaching up to 17 storeys to be built in the South Mission part of the city.

The project is proposed by the Mission Group under the title Aqua Resorts. The Mission Group is currently building three residential and commercial towers on Bernard Avenue downtown and just finished the Ella high-rise nearby.

The Aqua project includes towers of 13, 15 and 17 storeys, commercial spaces and boat storage at its existing Aqua Boat Club.

The development was announced in 2017 when it was re-zoned, but this is the latest look to the project.

“The intent of this development project is to create a lakeside community built around the natural features of the area,” states a letter accompanying the application. “This proposed design is centered around the Aqua theme, but also recognizing and paying homage to the surrounding Okanagan region.”

It’s located between Truswell Road and the Cook Street boat launch, just south of the Eldorado Hotel.

There are few details available with the application or on its website in terms of how many units are planned in what’s being called a “condominium resort community.”
