Shooting at business in Delta, B.C., believed linked to extortion: police

DELTA — Police say shots that were fired at a business in Metro Vancouver are believed to be linked to an extortion case.

The Delta Police Department says the attack happened early Friday in the Tilbury Industrial Park.

Officers confirmed bullet casings were found around the site, but no one was inside at the time.

Investigators say surveillance footage shows people inside a white sedan firing multiple shots into the business before taking off.

The department’s extortion task force has taken charge of the investigation and says early evidence shows the shooting to be targeted.

There are dozens of extortion-related violence cases being investigated across B.C., with many concentrated in Surrey, where police are looking into 56 reported extortions so far this year.
