HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — The Las Vegas Raiders signed free agent linebacker Segun Olubi on Monday to help boost their special teams.
Olubi spent the past four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts playing mostly on special teams. He appeared in 51 games with 50 tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two blocked punts and an interception. His 30 tackles on special teams led Indianapolis over the past four seasons.
Olubi had 11 special teams tackles, one forced fumble and one blocked punt last season. He played only six snaps on defense last season.
The Raiders struggled on special teams last season, leading to the midseason firing of coordinator Tom McMahon. New coach Klint Kubiak has hired longtime special teams coach Joe DeCamillis to run those units this upcoming season.
