A man photographed in a high-visibility orange jacket has been videotaping people on the street in Penticton and police are advising the public to be on the lookout.
RCMP received reports about a man filming people “in an intimidating manner” and displaying “disturbing behaviour” in Penticton and Kelowna, according to a press release from police issued, March 17.
The man claims to be recording for a podcast and YouTube channel where he educates people on the laws around filming in public, but police said his motive is unclear.
Police are telling people that if this man films you in an intrusive or concerning way, you shouldn’t engage and instead document the incident then report it to RCMP when it’s safe.
Penticton RCMP media liason officer didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
